Sopra Steria's GAS-X solution portfolio moves to our cpx.Energy platform.
At a time when digitalisation and suitable cloud strategies are becoming increasingly important, VNG Handel & Vertrieb has reached a major milestone. With the successful migration of its GAS-X systems to the innovative cpX.Energy platform, VNG Handel
& Vertrieb is positioning itself for the future.
With this integreation, the company is shifting its balancing group management, market communication as well as contract billing to our cloud solution.
VNG has been using GAS-X for billing for many years. The entire database was transferred from VNG's own IT infrastructure to cpX.Energy. VNG Handel & Vertrieb, based in Leipzig, supplies domestic and foreign trading companies, distributors, municipal
utilities and industrial and major customers reliably and flexibly with natural gas, biogas and, in future, hydrogen.
The challenge
The successful migration of VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH to the cpX.Energy platform presented the project team with several ambitious tasks. One of the main challenges consisted of coordinating and managing the project with numerous stakeholders. Around
a dozen external systems had to be seamlessly integrated into the cpX.Energy platform using a modern authentication process (OAuth2). This required close coordination with various service providers and the precise planning of the cut-over, which had
to be completed within just a few hours.
The integration of the processes, that only allow a maximum downtime of a few hours, was particularly challenging. The cut-over was therefore scheduled to start at night and had to be completed by the next morning. Thanks to careful planning and multiple
test runs, the system was successfully put into operation within the planned downtime and all interfaces functioned smoothly, which signified the success of the project.
The result
Performance benchmarks for the aggregation of allocation and forecast data had been specified up front and, using increased scaling and parallelisation of cloud resources, were successfully met. This enabled fast and reliable processing of large volumes of data, which is crucial for VNG's daily business processes.
With the successful conclusion of the project, VNG Handel & Vertrieb now has access to the complete software processes in the cpX.Energy platform.
This comprehensive platform integration sets new standards in the industry and underlines VNG's strong innovative power. The seamless integration of all processes into the cpX.Energy platform enables VNG to increase its efficiency, reduce costs, and support
its customers even more effectively.
