Successful Go-Live: The Virtual Trading Point now runs in the cloud

| minute read

Trading Hub Europe and Sopra Steria have reached another milestone in their cloud transformation journey: the cpX.Energy solution for the Virtual Trading Point (VHP) has been successfully deployed into production. Since then, process data has been processed stably and reliably in the cloud, marking a crucial step towards a high-performance and future-proof system landscape.

The primary focus was the seamless migration of a highly available core system. This was based on a two-step approach. First, master data and process data were fully migrated to the new cloud environment. The new system then operated in parallel with the existing on-premises system for several weeks. Following the successful validation of all results, the final cutover took place. As an additional safeguard, the legacy system will remain active in the background for the time being.

The transition was smooth and stable throughout without any significant disruptions. This marked the implementation of a key component for operating within a modern cloud architecture while also laying the foundation for greater digitalisation and scalability in the Virtual Trading Point market environment.

With the go-live successfully completed, the focus now shifts to the future. Plans for further expansion phases and optimisations within the market area manager's project scope are already in place.
