Storage Nomination and Allocation – SANE Project Successfully Goes Live at EWE Gasspeicher

| minute read

With the smooth transition of commercial dispatching into active operation on the cpX.Energy platform, one year of intensive joint project work between EWE Gasspeicher and Sopra Steria has come to a successful conclusion.

Commerical dispatching at a gas storage operator serves as the commercial and operational coordination centre for the day-to-day execution of storage operations. It ensures that storage customers’ requested injection and withdrawal operations are executed in compliance with the contractual agreements, available capacities, and balancing requirements. This specifically includes the processes of nomination, matching, congestion management, allocation, balancing and subsequent billing.

The system was successfully tested in parallel with ongoing operations prior to the go-live. Following its successful launch, data is now being transmitted efficiently to market partners and clients. The successful implementation demonstrates both the effectiveness of Sopra Steria’s solution and the close and trusting collaboration between all project participants.

From conception and development through to integration into existing system landscapes, numerous functional and technical requirements were implemented within the scope of this project. With the completion of the Hypercare phase, during which the project team oversaw the transition to regular operations and ensured the stable and reliable continuation of the processes, project SANE has come to a successful conclusion.

Its achievement demonstrates that even complex transformation projects can be successfully realised through team spirit, expertise and collaborative partnership.
