Open Grid Europe (OGE), Germany's largest transmission system operator, has commissioned Sopra Steria to transform its GAS-X applications into a public cloud. All gas data management applications for hourly energy calculation as well as the balancing and billing system will be transferred to the GX@Cloud platform operated by Sopra Steria.
The systems are available around the clock in a high-availability and high-scalability cloud architecture. Sopra Steria assumes overall responsibility for the software and systems and takes care of operation and maintenance. In addition, Sopra Steria is continuously developing the cloud platform, adding new features such as anomaly checks and AI based forecast services.
The move to the GX@Cloud platform is part of the OGE strategy: The transmission system operator will benefit from synergy effects, more flexibility and a cloud first (high scalability and stability), Mobile First (simple and fast access to processes and data) and Agile First (quick development of new IT services).
Sopra Steria is long-time partner of Open Grid Europe, supporting the company in all major gas data management aspects. The GX@Cloud project is proof of the high degree of trust and quality of cooperation.
