A Sovereign Cloud Strategy for the cpX.Energy Platform

| minute read

Digital sovereignty is becoming increasingly important in the energy sector. With this in mind, Sopra Steria continues to drive further development of the cpX.Energy platform. An initial proof of concept based on the German cloud platform STACKIT has already been successfully implemented. In addition, another European cloud provider is currently being evaluated.

STACKIT is a strategic partner of Sopra Steria and plays a key role in the evaluation and continuous development of sovereign cloud operating models. The goal is to meet the energy sector’s growing demands for data sovereignty, compliance, security and future readiness.

For this reason, the platform’s transformation follows a step-by-step approach. The first step is to establish and assess the technical and operational requirements for the use of sovereign cloud infrastructures. Next, additional European cloud options will be integrated into the overall architecture to establish a flexible and future-proof operating model.

The focus is on providing a unified platform solution for all cpX.Energy customers. To achieve this, Sopra Steria is following a multi-cloud strategy that leverages the benefits of sovereign cloud providers while addressing existing functional gaps. This creates a platform that meets the requirements of the energy industry and establishes a sustainable foundation for the digitalisation of key market processes.

With this initiative, Sopra Steria reinforces its commitment to delivering innovative, secure and sovereign cloud solutions for the energy sector while actively shaping the transformation toward a digital, resilient and future-ready energy industry.

This is what Frederic Munch (CEO for Germany and Austria at Sopra Steria) has to say about this partnership.
