The German TSO Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH adapts the invoice format according to the European standard EN 16931. From now on, the company relies on the ZUGFeRD format to invoice all their contracts in the Billing module.
At the end of 2019, Sopra Steria already implemented a billing step for ZUGFeRD 2.0 in the Billing module. The billing step generates an XML file in the XRECHNUNG format; this XML file is embedded in the invoice PDF. The result is a hybrid ZUGFeRD format file which contains the invoice data in both graphic and structured form. This enables an automatic evaluation. In 2020, the ZUGFeRD versions 2.1.0 and 2.1.1 were published and the validation process in the Billing module was adapted accordingly by Sopra Steria.
Since 27 Nov 2020, it is mandatory that invoices to public clients are issued in the XRECHNUNG format. The ZUGFeRD PDF is not required for this, but anyone who has ZUGFeRD can issue the XRECHNUNG.
