RWE Supply & Trading is the next energy trader to move into Sopra Steria's cpX.Energy cloud platform.
RWE Supply & Trading is the interface between RWE and the energy markets around the world. RWE Supply & Trading trades in (renewable) electricity, (green) gas, commodities and CO2 emission certificates. The trading company also ensures commercial optimization in the use of RWE power plants and markets electricity from renewable energy plants.
The goal of the transition project was to replace the on-premises solution ENER-GX and move the contract management and billing processes to a SaaS model. The project was accompanied by major challenges such as a complex interface landscape, important IT security issues and the parallel implementation of the energy price brake. An extensive project with a large number of players and systems to be connected has been successfully completed, so that RWE Supply & Trading can now effectively bill standard supply products for electricity & gas in the cpX.Energy platform.
