As of 1 April 2020, the German grid operators GASCADE Gastransport GmbH (GASCADE), Gastransport Nord GmbH (GTG) and Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH (GUD) have established the Virtual Interconnection Points (VIP) between the market areas GASPOOL and TTF (Netherlands) and, with the support of Sopra Steria, went live on schedule.
As a result, Gasunie's system is now the central system for all gas transports to and from the Netherlands and acts as an active operator and sole point of contact for communication with the Dutch network operator GTS (Gasunie Transport Services).
No fewer than 44 interfaces were coordinated and implemented in the project with the network operators GTG Nord GmbH and GASCADE Gastransport GmbH. At the same time, the exchange format GAS-XML was implemented as a market format alongside the VIP processes.
Despite the adversities caused by the Corona crisis, such as remote work and exclusive communication via online channels, the project was completed successfully and on time.
