Since 1 November 2018, transmission system operators (TSO) are obliged pursuant to Art. 19 (9) of EU Regulation 2017/459 (NC CAM) to set up virtual interconnection points (VIP) between neighbouring entry and exit systems. Grid operator GASCADE Gastransport has implemented the requirement at the border crossing between Germany and the Czech Republic. The virtual interconnection point was put into operation on schedule together with Sopra Steria Consulting.
